Western Slope Wolf Habitat

Colorado  has a land area of 103,718 square miles. That equates to just over 66,379,000 acres. It is the 8th largest state by area. Also sounds like a lot of land that an introduced wolf population could thrive in. However, there is more land that cannot be considered suitable than that can.

  1. Our ancestors were correct in eradicating them from the lower 48. Livestock don’t have a chance against them. It is worse now. We have bred them to not have horns, and we have bred them for docility. This was done to protect cattle from each other and to protect those that work with them. It is a shame that the State of Colorado voted for this. It’s a shame that they are protected over US citizens.

  2. Families are struggling to buy food but we are willing to throw away $$ millions to support wolves and allow them to eat all the elk and deer as well as cattle and sheep. What sense does this make? Spend millions to destroy resources. Some families rely upon elk and deer as a means to feed their families. Why would we ever destroy a food resource? Why would we ever prioritize wolves over humans?

  3. How is it that none of the wolves released have not traveled to East? They have traveled to the western side of the state but no movement to the east ????
